Routine Maintenance and Tune-ups

My AC compressor locked up and I thought we were going to need a whole new system. Called Contra Costa Heating and the tech checked everything before jumping to conclusions. Turned out the hard start kit failed and was putting too much strain on the compressor. Replaced the kit and the compressor freed up. Saved us thousands compared to a full replacement.

Very professional, courteous, very respectful, and asked me if I had any questions, or concerns with the furnace.

Contra Costa Heating fixed our furnace that was blowing cold air. Turned out to be a bad gas valve. Tech had the replacement part and installed it the same visit. Heat was back within the hour. Appreciate that they carry common parts on their trucks so you don't have to wait for a second visit.

We recently had Contra Costa Heating install a new heat pump system to replace our aging furnace and AC in our Concord home. The crew completed the installation in about 8 hours. They removed all the old equipment and even patched the wall where the old gas line had been. The new all-electric system is working well and our utility costs have gone down.

We have been customers of Contra Costa Heating since we moved to Pleasanton in 2018. They have serviced our furnace and AC every year and have always been reliable. When our compressor failed last summer, they had a replacement installed within 48 hours. That kind of responsiveness is why we keep using them.

Had Contra Costa Heating out to give us an estimate on converting to a heat pump. The estimator spent about an hour at our house in Walnut Creek going over options. He explained the rebates, the differences between brands, and what would work best for our home's layout. No pressure at all. We decided to move forward and the install went smoothly.

First time calling Contra Costa Heating. Our furnace pilot light wouldn't stay lit. Tech came out the same day and replaced the thermocouple. Simple fix and fair price. He also did a quick safety check while he was there. Will definitely call them again.

Had them replace both our furnace and AC at our house in Dublin. The old system was about 22 years old and constantly needing repairs. The new Trane setup runs great and the house temperature is much more consistent room to room. The crew protected our floors and cleaned everything up.

My neighbor in San Ramon uses Contra Costa Heating and told me to try them when our AC went out. Tech came the next day, diagnosed a failed capacitor, and had it replaced in under 30 minutes. System has been running fine since. Good recommendation from my neighbor.

Called Contra Costa Heating when our AC started blowing warm air on a hot afternoon. Tech was out within a few hours and found a bad contactor. Replaced it on the spot and the house was cool again before dinner.

My AC wasn't keeping up with the summer heat. Called Contra Costa Heating and the tech found that our condenser coils were severely clogged with debris. He cleaned them thoroughly and the AC started cooling much better immediately. He recommended we keep the area around the outdoor unit clear of plants and leaves.

had contra costa heating fix our ac that was leaking refrigerant. the tech found the leak at one of the line connections, fixed it, and recharged the system. the ac is cooling much better now. the tech explained what caused it and how to watch for signs of future leaks. helpful info

Called about a weird smell coming from our furnace when it first turns on in the fall. The tech said it was dust burning off from sitting idle all summer and was normal. He still did a full inspection to make sure everything was safe. Appreciate that he took the time even though it turned out to be nothing.

Had the $49 tuneup special done on our AC unit before summer hit. The tech cleaned the condenser coils, checked the refrigerant levels, tightened electrical connections, and made sure the fan motor was running smoothly. He also showed me how to properly rinse the condenser fins. Great preventive maintenance at a fair price.

We had a complicated HVAC installation in our older home in Berkeley. The existing ductwork needed modifications and the attic access was tight. Contra Costa Heating handled the job well. They installed a new furnace and AC, modified the ductwork to improve airflow, and made sure everything was up to code. The permit inspection passed on the first attempt.
